Bio

My Story

Ebony McMillian is a mixed-media abstract artist whose work blends scientific craftsmanship and investigative thinking with intuitive design. Whether the project is fashion design, textile creation, sketching, painting, or curated installations, she uses her scientific brain to approach every project. Her 15+ years as a forensic scientist sharpened her eye for detail in a way that shows up in every line, pattern, and surface she touches.

While her academic degrees define her as a scientist, her body of work reveals a true artist, designer, and maker. Ebony's multidisciplinary practice transforms materials, textures, and ideas into meaningful visual experiences, delivering a thoughtful and immersive journey for every viewer and client she collaborates with.

Why Choose Me

I create culturally rooted, visually immersive brand experiences that transform ideas into meaningful connections. My work is shaped by a rare intersection of scientific precision, artistic storytelling, and vintage curation, allowing me to approach design with both analytical strategy and emotional depth.

As a scientist turned art and design strategist and vintage retailer, I see design differently. I am inspired by culture, traditions, historical patterns, craftsmanship, sustainability, and the revitalization of overlooked objects and ideas. I believe the past holds powerful visual language that can be reimagined into fresh, contemporary experiences that resonate with modern audiences.

Whether developing surface designs, creative campaigns, retail concepts, or immersive installations, I use my C³ Method: Conceptualize, Curate, Create to build intentional experiences that enhance customer connection, spark curiosity, and leave a lasting impression.

Brands choose me because I do not just design visuals. I curate experiences with story, texture, memory, and purpose. My approach blends research-driven thinking with artistic intuition to create work that feels both culturally informed and emotionally engaging.

C³ Method

Every project starts with connection, meeting with the client to understand their vision, story, and goals. From there, I Conceptualize by researching materials, gathering information, taking notes, and sketching ideas to develop the vision. I then Curate the concept by gathering and incorporating information specific to the client, refining the idea to align with their needs and desired experience. Finally, I Create the actual work, bringing the curated concept to life through thoughtful production and an intentional customer experience.
